Dynamic barriers:
This is a very sophisticated way of protecting against rocky rushes or as a protection in zones with possible landslides. Dynamic barriers are used mainly in populated areas or as a line protection of transport routes. There is a wide range of systems which are primarily divided by the ability to absorb energy of the impact (100 – 5000 kJ).

Retaining fences:
This is a less sophisticated way to protect against rock-like rushing, designed to capture smaller rock fragments. Retaining fences can generally be divided into „light“ and „heavy“ ones mainly  depending on the type of supporting posts and filler nets used.
